What Are CROP Walks?
 CROP Hunger Walks are community-based walk events held in cities and towns across the United States, raising funds to support the global mission of Church World Service, a faith-based organization transforming communities around the globe through just and sustainable responses to hunger, poverty, displacement and disaster. Twenty five percent of the funds raised are returned to the host community to support local hunger fighting efforts.

The Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance mission is to eliminate substandard and overcrowded rental housing for farmworker families and other low-income residents of Immokalee.

We endeavor to provide services, supplies and education to medically  underserved persons with the goal of caring for immediate minor ailments  in order to prevent catastrophic and costly medical conditions. We  additionally provide recuperative shelter for those too ill to be  unsheltered, but not ill enough to be hospitalized and/or for those  discharged from the hospital to prevent readmission.

Word Made Flesh is a wonderful organization that helps some many young people in Sierra Leone. They have several programs. Lighthouse is a program for about 45 teens, many who were living on the street. It includes: Weekly whole group meeting with dinner, Bible Study, weekly small group meetings of deep sharing, weekly meals and ultimate frisbee, summer week long camp, Princess Day for the girls – who often have much less personal power than the boys. Teens with a sponsor have a staff mentor, family visits, school fees or vocational training, and an advocate at school.

SERRV is an international organization that empowers small-scale global artisans and farmers through long-term trading partnerships, helping them build sustainable employment, resources, rights, and a vision of hope in their communities.
The products from these artisans are bought by our members to support this just cause. 

South County Food Pantry collects and distributes much needed groceries to families in the Venice, Nokomis, Osprey, and Laurel.
Our church contributes monetary funds and members can deposit donated foods in boxes to be delivered or picked up.

Through the Global Ministries Child and Elder Sponsorship Program, VUCC sponsors Elavarasi and Dinesh Kumar in India.  We receive updates periodically on their progress in school, sports, and recent photos.  All information and  photos are placed in Naar Hall.
