Women

She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.

Proverbs 31:25

All women of VUCC are members of Women's Fellowship.
The purpose of Women's Fellowship is to promote fellowship among all the women of the Church as they work and serve together, and to cultivate the spirit of Christ in women as they begin with their own lives and reach out into the home, the community, and the world.
Women's Fellowship also strives to sponsor fundraisers in order to provide funds to church projects as well as local community charities.

Basket Auction

The Basket Auction is usually held in November.  It's set up has changed, but overall, baskets are donated for attendees to purchase tickets for a chance to win one or more baskets that you have placed in jars in front of the baskets displayed in Naar Hall.  Proceeds benefit our local community organizations.

Rummage Sale

This fundraiser is usually held in February.  Volunteers sort and arrange all donated items in Naar Hall.  The set-up process takes many days.  But, the funds raised are donated to various charitable organizations in our community.

Angel Chefs

These angels offer a home cooked meal to many of our members and friends of VUCC on specials days such as, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day. Some of our members don't cook or cannot cook. They eat prepared frozen dinners, a can of soup, whatever they can find in the pantry. This gives them the opportunity to have a homemade meal that is prepared with love and care. You cook whatever you like for you and your family and make extras to be delivered to a member or friend.

Red Bags

Every year, around Valentine's Day, our members fill Red Bags for the homeless with toiletries, food, socks,  games, sunscreen, and many other essential items.   Some of the bags are taken to the Emanuel Lutheran Coffee Talk program at the train station and the rest will go to the On The Spot ministry.  This is a wonderful ministry that helps so many in need.

Prayer Shawls

Over the centuries, shawls have come to symbolize shelter, peace and spiritual sustenance. A prayer shawl that is lovingly created, blessed, and wrapped around the shoulders of someone who needs the sort of comfort and love that only a shawl can provide. With its roots based in love, prayer shawl making combines the ancient method of needlework and prayer into a tangible, unconditional symbol of care, concern, and celebration.
