Word Made Flesh

Word Made Flesh is a wonderful organization that helps some many young people in Sierra Leone. They have several programs. Lighthouse is a program for about 45 teens, many who were living on the street. It includes: Weekly whole group meeting with dinner, Bible Study, weekly small group meetings of deep sharing, weekly meals and ultimate frisbee, summer week long camp, Princess Day for the girls – who often have much less personal power than the boys. Teens with a sponsor have a staff mentor, family visits, school fees or vocational training, and an advocate at school.

The Good News Club

Good News Club is a program for 300 children ages 2-12. The weekly meeting includes acting out gospel stories, responsive “faith cheers,” joyful singing, dancing, basic first aid, individual prayer and a hard boiled egg (the only protein many of them will get for the week.) The Christmas party is a highlight of the year for most of the children.

There is also tutoring, outreach, the Vulnerable Persons Project, and Servant Team.

How do we help?

Our church helps by selling beads, other tailored items, and crafts to support KIT. We have a prayer partner program with the staff and adults there at Sierra Leone. We help support the education of some lighthouse graduates.
